This chip is a pre-stage of a sampling converter (44.1kHz - 48kHz) which would allow data to be transferred from a Compact Disc to a DAT (Digital Audio Tape). In this project, the goal is to convert the serial datastream of the CD to a parallel one. The control information is separated from the audio sample and is made available separately.
