Description
Steuersignal Mixer (SIMIX) is a chip that can combine two puls width modulated signals (x and y) to get a sum and difference signal. It allows the computation of
- s = (1-a)x + ay
- d = (1-a)x -ay + a
where a is a factor between 0 and 1. The chip was designed to aid the design of remote controlled planes and ships. The calculation is done through an ALU that operates on 9-bit fixpoint numbers. The signals are first converted from pulses to binary digits, then the sum and difference is calculated and new pulses are generated.
