The idea was to develop an ASIC which could be used to generate test functions with the help of a personal computer. The system will be realized as a PC-card which would also house the SRAMs needed to store test patterns, tristate buffer and address decoding.
There are 3 different moeds to generate a waveform. In the normal mode, a waveform of maximum 127 samples can be generated. The continous, and the wave modeare for periodic signals. Continous mode allows a maximum length of 127 patterns and the wave mode is used for 256 samples.
