This chip will allow a slow printer to be connected to a fast SCSI interface. The chip will act as a SCSI slave with a configurable SCSI ID. Once a print request is initiated the data will be copied to an external FIFO memory. At the same time the chip will initiate the data transfer on the Centronics interface. The SCSI Host will be able to monitor progress by accessing control registers on the chip.
