The Transimpedance Medical Amplifier for Oximetry (TMA-O) chip features a 3 channel transimpedance amplifer (TIA) analogue front-end and a 6-channel LED driver. It is optimized for the requirements of LED and photodiode based spectroscopy, e.g. in pulse oximetry. The recently designed Doomsdaymachine 13 bit SAR ADC is included in this chip for digitization of the TIA voltage output. The highly configurable front-end will allow to amplify currents ranging from 50nA to 4uA to full-swing.
The art-work is a reference to Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey". Here, TMA-0 is the name of the opening-scene monolithe and stands for Tycho Magnetic Anomaly Zero
