MoCoMRI3, code name Pepper, is the extension of MoCoMRI2 (Salt). The previously designed crystal oscillator has now been surrounded by a Bang-Bang PLL locking on an external input clock. The latter comes from the Broadcast Receiver (BCRX) also integrated in this chip. The BCRX is supposed to allow for a multi-region operation with an input in the American ISM Band (902-928MHz) or in the European license-free band for Short Range Devices (863-870MHz). The input clock is received, divided and fed at the input of the Bang-Bang PLL. The sensitivity of the system reached -55dBm in measurements. This design is expected to be used in MRI applications.
