The chip implements a digital filter of order up to 2048. At 48kHz sampling frequency the resolution of the 4096 bin fast fourier transform (FFT) is 12 Hz. The arithmetic unit consists of a floating-point multiplier and adder with 24-bit mantissa and 8-bit exponent. The equalizar is realized as a 9 logarithmic spaced frequency bands with quasi-continous amplitude resolution. The 24-bit audio ports are ikmplemented as I2S master interfacs that can drive most audio codecs directly.
