TactronIC implements a capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC) circuit for a capacitive tactile sensor to enhance the manipulation capabilities of a robotic gripper. The system comprises an FSM that sequentially reads each capacitance in the 12 x 12 array, a switched-capacitor integrator circuit, and a 13-bit differential SAR ADC (aka Karakartal). Additionally, it employs correlated double sampling to mitigate DC offsets and low-frequency noise in the sensor readings.
