The VBD is a video digitizer. It is able to interface to an A/D converter and extract the image which it can store in an external RAM. Later the image can be retrieved from RAM and transferred to a PC where it can be processed further.
VBD can select a region and use 2,4,8 or 16 gray levels for the image. Horizontal resiolution is maximum 800 lines and depending on the speed of the attached PC it can achieve up to 10 frames per second.
