Miur is a ASIC designed for implants addressing the study of visceral and peripheral neural pathways in animal models. It features eight ExG channels intended for neural activity recording, a six-channel neural stimulation hardware and an on-chip temperature sensor. Both, the ExG AFE and the temperature sensor are inherited from the Cerebro 4.1 Jack design. The ExG instrumentation amplifiers analogue bandwidth is configurable in the range 3.2-12.8kHz and the shared SAR ADC supports sampling rates up to 25.6kHz per channel.
Miur means 'mouse' in Rumantsch, the fourth official language of Switzerland. Philipp Schoenle, one of the designers of the chip is very proud to be from Graubuenden, the Kanton of Switzerland where this language is mainly spoken.
