Description

OpenGPS is a chip that implements a GPS acquisition stage dedicated to the snapshot positioning technique to determine the position of a receiver using only a very brief period of the incoming signal.

The chip is able to compute for each satellite of the GPS constellation:

• its SNR,
• the phase of the incoming satellite signal,
• the frequency offset.
It is configurable to work with signals ranging from 10 to 32 milliseconds and outputs serially the computed information for each GPS satellite.

The logo pays tribute to the species of loggerhead sea turtles, which sprouted the idea of the need to design a new kind of power-efficient GPS receivers.
